Search Hub ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles user information.
The developer of the Extension does not collect, receive, or share any personal data or user information. The Extension has no server of its own and contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code.
When you choose a site from the menu, the text you selected is sent to that site only, as part of its search link, or copied to your clipboard so that you can paste it there yourself. For AI assistants whose link can carry the text, the Extension does both: it places the text in the link and also copies it. The Extension places your text only in links that start with https://. It does not send your text anywhere else. If you select more than 500 characters, the Extension opens nothing and copies nothing; it only shows a short message asking for a shorter selection.
On your device, the Extension itself handles two things: the text you select on a page, which it places in the link of the site you chose or copies to your clipboard, and your preferences.
The Extension requires the following permissions for its core functionality:
The Extension opens links to third-party websites (e.g., Google, YouTube, ChatGPT) when you click on a menu item. A website receives the text you selected only when the Extension places it in that site's link, or when you paste it there yourself after the Extension copied it; the website then handles it under its own privacy policy. If Chrome Sync is enabled, your preferences are synced by Google under Google's privacy policy.
Because the developer receives no data from the Extension, the developer holds nothing about you that could be leaked or misused. Your preferences are stored by Chrome and, if Chrome Sync is enabled, synced by Google across your signed-in devices. The developer does not receive them. The text you select goes only to the site you choose.
The Extension's use of the information it handles complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The text you select is used only for the Extension's single purpose, which is searching for that text on the site you choose, and it is passed only to that site, at your request. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never read by the developer or by anyone on the developer's behalf.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
